Ian & Emily | South Bend

Ian and Emily got married last Friday in South Bend, Indiana, on the nicest day. Their venue, the Izaak Walton Lodge, was one of those places you've never heard of that turns out to be absolutely perfect.

 Hannah Strickland, Emily's best friend since their freshman year at Hillsdale, styled her hair. Their's is a sweet friendship to watch.

 Katie Nolan, one of my housemates at Hillsdale, helped Em's friend Diana Bolen put together a delicate baby's-breath crown. It complimented Em's lace dress perfectly.

 Ian and his groomsmen got ready at Sam and Jess Johnson's adorable apartment nearby.

 

Quick shoutout to Aaron Andrews, Ian's best man and younger brother standing to Ian's right: your toast was amazing. I've heard a lot of best man's toasts this summer and yours struck the perfect tone. You made fun of Ian the necessary amount while showing the depth of your relationship. Good job!

 Getting to meet the Andrews clan was surreal. Some families sort of look like each other and sort of act like each other but it would be easy to mistake some of the members as guests. Not the Andrews family.

 After weddings, Nick and I always talk about the highlights from the day. Ian's dance with his stunning mother was one of the obvious picks.
